Nyx and Bond

Bond had been paying closer attention to incidents of unrest. Since Q had reported that he'd been harassed by someone who thought he was Nyx, and the vampire reporting bigotry, Bond knew he needed to keep a hold on order.

But you couldn't account for assholes.

He heard over the radio there was a commotion and since he was nearby, Bond headed for the report, only to find...

Nyx.

Nyx had turned the man down countless times, not interested in spending time with someone who spoke to him like a pet, rather than a person. This time, however, the officer hadn't taken no for an answer, pinning the nymph against the wall.

He managed to strike the man, but that only encouraged more violence from his attacker.

Bond rushed in at the same time two other soldiers arrived. Bond tore the officer off of Nyx, slapped him hard across the face, and threw him to the ground. He looked up at Bond, stunned and furious.

"Cuff him and take him to the brig," Bond said. The other soldiers picked him up and dragged him off as he yelled insults at Nyx.

Bond watched him go, then came closer.

"Are you hurt?" he asked

The nymph looked a bit shaken, but shook his head no.

"I'm fine, I apologize for the disturbance," he added quickly.

"You're not the one who caused the disturbance," Bond said.

He looked him over, took him all in, then gestured for him to follow.

"Come along," he told him,

Nyx followed along, a little nervous. He couldn't help it, Bond could be intense.

Bond took him to the next level and made for his office.

"How often is this happening?" he asked as they walked.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Oh, um... Not that often," Nyx insisted, wary of being seen as a problem. "And most back off if I tell them to."

"It shouldn't be happening at all," he replied. "Is it always my men? Or are you having trouble with Harry's people, too?"

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Um, well... Mostly yours," Nyx admitted. "It's almost always blokes on patrol. They want to get off, but don't want to be seen with me. ...Or to pay me ."

"I'll take care of it," he replied.

Anger set his jaw hard. He would set his men straight.

"In here," he said as he ushered Nyx into his office.

"Oh, um, alright," Nyx nodded, following him inside.

Bond pointed to a chair and when Nyx sat, Bond stepped up behind him and gripped both shoulders firmly.

"Are you instigating this?" Bond asked calmly.

[prince_of_nymphs]

Nyx pulled away sharply, turning to glare at the other man.

"Only if existing is considered an act of instigation," he replied.

"Don't be sensitive," he scolded. "It isn't a question beyond reason."

He stepped back.

"I can handle my own men."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Then handle them," Nyx replied, trying to sound bolder than he felt.

[0_0_7]

"I will. In the morning he'll be lashed in front of the assembly. I doubt we will have another issue," he replied.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"...Wait, what?" Nyx replied. "You can't hurt people. Not on my account. I'm not okay with that."

[0_0_7]

"It's not on your account, Nyx. If he's doing it to you, he's doing it to others. He chose to make himself the example," Bond replied.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Yes, but... Perhaps what he needs isn't punishment, it's compassion. People are lonely, they're lost..." Nyx insisted.

"They're insubordinate and they fracture the fragile peace we're trying to build," Bond said. "I will not have him lay his trauma on everyone else. And especially not you."

THere was something terribly possessive in those final words.

[prince_of_nymphs]

Nyx raised a brow at that, surprised by Bond's tone.

"Somehow I don't think this has much to do with me."

[0_0_7]

"It has everything to do with you. But more with my men. Also, they're confusing you and the quartermaster. This ends with him," he replied.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"Oh, the one with glasses. You think we look alike?" Nyx asked. "My hair is much longer."

[0_0_7]

"Similar. Similar enough to confuse people," Bond replied.

"People who want to take. We're rebuilding society, Nyx. There must be order."

[prince_of_nymphs]

Nyx nodded slightly then sighed.

"I can not change my nature, I feel I need to warn you of that. People will always be stimulated by my proximity."
