Portal Plot - Q, Harry

The news of the portal spread fast and Bond was keen to see what it was all about. A way home was nothing he'd pass up. And, of course, he'd grabbed Q ad Harry to make sure they got home, too.

They stepped out in London, right into Bond's flat with his television and lone chair, files and folders scattered on a box that served as a table. The first thing he did was turn on the telly to the news.

And today in Cornwall there was a massive earthquake that triggered a landslide. Geologist have no explanation for it as earthquakes are not common in that area. Locals blame the poor conditions of ancient, crumbling mines...

Bond clicked it off.

"Q, get on the phone and call M. Then we'll know if we need to be debriefed or if we can go get dinner and drinks at some civilized place."

Harry wasn't quite sure what to say to that. "I might recommend against food fights, at least."

Q lowered his mug slightly and stuck his tongue out in a shockingly dignified way.

"Yes, very childish," he agreed.

"Watch who you call old or you'll get another sausage," Bond said as a smile played on his lips. Q may be younger, but Bond was a bloody child.

Harry set aside the teapot and moved closer to Q. Leaned over and kissed the top of his head.

The young boffin seemed to soften slightly beneath the show of affection, the lip vanishing for just a moment as he allowed himself to enjoy feeling cared for and wanted.

Bond got up from his perch to come pinch another sausage. He poked the tip of Q's nose before he did, though.

"You're quite a cat, Q," he said. "Look at you. Eating up the affection."

Harry saw Q's reaction, and it inspired him to put a hand on the young man's shoulder and to lean over and kiss his cheek this time. "I think he's entitled to a bit."

Q may as well have been purring, and he leaned into the touch. "I'm hardly a cat... Sometimes I just like it when people are nice."

...And sometimes he preferred when they weren't, but he was doing his best to find a balance.

Bond put the sausage back on the plate and reached out to cup Q's face. He ran his thumb across the boffin's bottom lip.

"You do deserve to be treated well," he purred. "So very good."

This suddenly felt terribly intimate, though Harry stopped himself after he started to look away. Realizing that he was part of the intimacy, too. "Of course he does," he said quietly.

Q wasn't certain if he was being mocked or not, but after a moment he parted his lips and caught James' thumb between them.

Bond groaned softly. His shoulder hurt but it was easy to forget with the warm velvet of Q's tongue against his thumb.

"Maybe I can get on board with this 'in bed all day' idea," he said softly.

"You should be careful not to overexert yourself," Harry murmured, though even as he said this, he dragged his thumb lightly across the back of Q's neck.

All the gentle caresses and soft touches had Q a bit off balance, his guard down fully as he leaned into it. He felt vulnerable, and that was enough to make him assert himself with a sharp little nip at James' thumb.

"Ow!" Bond exclaimed in surprise. He curled his fingers under Q's chin in an effort to keep him from biting harder. He didn't care if it hurt a bit.

"He bit me. Do you see this?" he asked Harry.

"Perhaps you shouldn't provoke him," Harry said mildly.

Q looked pleased with himself, but did, eventually, release James' thumb. Though there was an obvious reaction to the slight pain that came from James's grip on his chin. Q didn't have much of a poker face when it came to desire.

It was a fault, and a weakness, but not one he'd ever sought to correct.

Q was plain to read. Moreso than anyone he knew. He shifted his grip and held the man's face tightly, fingers and thumb digging into the curve of his jaw.

"I'll provoke him all I like," he said, calm and cool.

Harry wasn't oblivious to what was happening, but he also had no idea how to react to it. This felt intimate between the two of them in a way that felt more exclusionary. And it wasn't that this bothered him, exactly, he just didn't know what to do.

So he did nothing, though he did carefully pull his hand away from Q's neck.

Q had been staring Bond down, as though silently daring him to do something- Though at the sudden absence of Harry's touch, he glanced away, trying to look at Harry despite Bond's grip on his face.

"He needs a strong hand, Harry," Bond said as he saw the man pull away. "Two strong hands. Four, more like. Don't be shy."

Harry hesitated. Then he finally said, "Perhaps you could show me."

He hated betraying his own inexperience. Especially to James. And he did worry that he didn't have to offer what either of them wanted. But he was willing to learn.

"He is right here and doesn't like being spoken of as though he were a table lamp," Q huffed, before turning slightly to look at Harry.

"And you needn't do anything you're not interested in," he said, a touch more gently. "Don't allow James to bully you. While I do have certain interests, I don't need anything. I enjoy everything we do."

Maybe you'd prefer to be the gentle hand," Bond suggested. "No need for us to both be rough. I'm sure Q will enjoy whatever we do," he added, his grip softening to stroke the pain away from Q's jaw.

"Good cop, bad cop?" Harry managed, with a little smile. He relaxed a little.
