Bond was on edge with Hotchner here and had very nearly told Q not to come. But after his time with Leo, he needed his Monday night with the lad.

He waited in his rooms dressed in slacks and a shirt, his tie hanging loosely around his neck. He'd poured himself a scotch, then poured another as he sat facing the door.

And he waited.

"Good. Then get up," he replied, giving him a little push to move.

Q protested softly, but eventually got back up, his touch lingering just a little on Bond's shoulder.

Bond rose to his feet and stretched a bit, then undid the buttons of his shirt slowly, revealing more and more as the placket fell open.

He truly hoped he wasn't going to regret this. He'd learned hard lessons, so...perhaps. Perhaps this would be something good.

"Do my cuffs," he said as he offered his arms to Q.

Stepping closer, q started to undo Bond's cuffs.

"Can I ask what's brought this all on?"

"No. You may not," he replied, tugging his arms free and carrying his shirt to the bedroom.

The room warmed with a soft glow as he stepped in and tossed the shirt in the hamper. When Q followed behind, Bond was already stowiing the pet bed beneath his own. Out of sight, out of use.

Q rolled his eyes at that answer, following along and inviting himself to climb into Bond's bed.

Bond tutted at him and waved him away.

"No clothes in bed," he scolded. Then he sat on the edge and tugged at him. "Get up and give me a show."

Q pouted a little, getting up and starting to strip what little clothing he was still wearing.

"Seems like there are still a lot of rules," he noted.

"We're not about to descend into madness just because I have feelings for you, Q," he said.

Q finished undressing then moved closer.

"Madness, hmm?"

Bond held Q's waist loosely and looked up at him.

"Chaos," he nodded. "Mayhem."

"Like socks in bed?" Q teased lightly.

[0_0_7]

"The lunatics may as well run the asylum," he nodded, the corner of his lips twitching and a secret smile. Bond rarely smiled, and yet it came easily when he was with Q.

Q laughed, then slowly climbed onto Bond's lap.

Sometimes the man could be terribly charming...

"It's like owning a cat," Bond grumbled lightly as Q settled in and he held him carefully.

"I have cats," Q noted, nuzzling Bond's jaw. "Two of them, actually."

Bond tipped his head back a bit to allow Q to enjoy himself.

"Do they maul you like this?" he asked, his voice soft though his hold on Q was solid.

"Like this? Oh, no, not at all," Q purred. "They just want their dinner after all- They're not starving like me."

Bond brought his hand up and pushed him away a little.

"Starving?" Bond asked, barely containing his amusement. He rather liked this side of Q. He hadn't expected it at all.

[cuppa_q]

"Famished," Q said, nodding slightly.

[0_0_7]

"I have some biscuits in the cupboard..." he offered, ever so helpfully.

"You know that isn't what I'm after," Q pouted. "Don't be mean. I thought we were partners now."

Bond smiled at that and petted Q's hair.

"I know," he said. "And you're being so sweet..."

He dragged his palm down Q's cheek and took hold of his throat in a firm grip.

"...It's adorable."

Q whimpered a little, going still and holding James' gaze. The hand on his throat was frightening, but he trusted James.

He had to. So much of their relationship depended on it.

He held on until Q's pulse beat hard under his finger and thumb, then he trailed his hand lower to rest over his heart.

"Get on your knees," he said, then shoved him off his lap.
