Around the time the rest of Q branch was clearing out to catch to Tube and find their way home before the sun set, Bond wandered in to see if Q was ready.

"They've set the implant for Thursday morning," he said. "Unless something comes up."

As he made his announcement, he picked up a new creation to inspect it.

Q made a surprised sound, then relaxed with a laugh.

"I'm certain that's true," he agreed, tugging a little on James' tie. "I imagine you can conjure up a good time without having to hardly think about it."

"You certainly think highly of me, Q," Bond chuckled warmly.

"Not every moment is thrilling," he insisted.

"No? I find you nothing less than a thrill, James. Even when you're making toast," Q replied.

Bond looked dubious, then shook his head with a laugh.

"Oh dear," he murmured before kissing him again.

He'd been thinking of this all day. Kissing him, at length, in privacy, and he had the excuse that he was supposed to be here. It was perfect.

"Take me to bed," Q whispered against his lips. "If I'm to be trapped, at least I'm trapped with you, in a nice bed, with good wine and soft pyjamas."

Bond caught hold of him and lifted him off the floor, kissing his neck as he carried him toward the bedroom.

"Reminds me of fishing off St. Martin," he laughed when Q wasn't perfectly still.

"Oi, I'm not a fish," Q laughed, deliberately squirming a little bit more.

Bond held on until he was laughing too much and Q wriggled just so and he set him down.

"Are you sure?" he asked. "Haven't you always wanted to be stuffed and mounted?"

"Want to hang me on the wall, do you?" Q asked with a laugh. "Don't think you could put those supplies on the expense account."

Tonight he seemed so playful and flirtatious, but then there was a crack of thunder outside, and the boffin's whole body seemed to tense and flinch. His pulse quickened, and it wasn't until the rain began to patter against the windows did he seem to calm down.

"Not a fan of storms?" Bond asked after the third crash and third flich that Q couldn't entirely hide from him.

"I don't usually mind them," Q said, a quiet way of admitting he was still a bit shaken from the explosion.

"Mmm," was the only sound in the dim room. "I imagine I could distract you until it passes..."

Lightning flashed and Bond used the light to catch his face and kiss him through the next crash.

Q's pulse fluttered, and he wasn't sure if it was the lightning or the kiss. Either way, he held on tight, finding comfort in the other man.

Bond was quickly and utterly distracted by Q's kiss. His hand crept up under his shirt, and then slipped beneath his waistband.

If he was here for a protection detail, they were both going to get killed.

Q gasped, instantly putty in Bond's hands.

"James," he moaned. "Please."

The moment the double-o had hands on him, he seemed to just forget it all. The explosion, the safe house, the storm...

Bond had his shirt off and Q's on its way over his head, lips seeking another kiss before the boffin's face was even free.

"I need you," he admitted quietly.

"So have me," Q said, wiggling the rest of the way out of his shirt and discarding his glasses. "I'm yours, remember?" he said softly, almost sounding embarrassed as he said it. As though he still couldn't believe James wanted him.

"That you are," Bond nodded, stripping bare while Q shed his things.

Once his precious glasses were safe, Bond caught Q, twisted him, pivoted, spun him utterly off balance and then took him down to the mattress where the agent pinned him there and then began to kiss the lingering bruise.

"Mine," he whispered against Q's chest. "Don't ever forget."

"One day you're going to do that, and I'm going to know you on your back," Q warned, though he was laughing softly.

He struggled a little, boldly grappling a little with the double-o.

James was right, he wasn't thinking about the storm anymore, his whole focus was on the other man.

Bond took hold of him and grinned.

"And what would you do if you had me down?" he purred, then rolled them as a unit so Q wound up on top. "Your worst?"

"Maybe," Q said, smoothing his hands up Bond's chest and flicking his thumbs over the other man's nipples.

Bond settled comfortably and folded his arms above his head. He studied Q, the way he looked so much younger without his glasses in the dim light. The way his hair had gone wild when he'd taken his shirt off and it still stood every direction.

He watched Q admire him and that look in the boffin's eyes cut straight to his heart.

"I'm not sure I'd survive your worst," he smirked.

Q smiled at that, bending low and kissing his way down Bond's chest, tender and sweet as he let himself enjoy the taste of James' skin. "You are stunning," he murmured, running his tongue over an old scar.

His fingertips found Q's knees, then his whole palms smoothed up his thighs. He caught his hips and held on, using the grip to help him rise from the pillow to sit up and meet him.

Almost meet him.

Bond stretched as far as he could to reach.

"Kiss me," he demanded.

"Say please," Q replied. "Say pretty please," he added with a wicked little grin.
